Chopstick Carving Workshop with Saburo Koga

Sunday, August 3 | 1:00-3:30pm

$60/$50 Members

Work with renowned Japanese woodcarver Saburo Koga and learn some basic woodcarving techniques while making a set of your own beautiful chopsticks. Saburo will introduce the characteristics of the specific kinds of wood you will choose from. All carving tools, wood, and a chopstick case will be provided.

Shop from a curated selection of international toys collected by Don Adler who has been traveling the world since 1973 in search of the magic he first found in a wooden Miharu horse discovered in a Kyoto storefront. Don has graciously made his collection available for purchase to benefit the museum, and will be telling the stories behind the toys at our Cocktail Reception. Drop-in all weekend to purchase toys that will bring joy into your life

Submission Call

Call for submissions!

The Craft & Folk Art Museum and the Farhang Foundation announce a call for submissions for an international juried exhibition of contemporary photography and video works relating to Iranian culture and heritage. Titled Focus Iran: Contemporary Photography and Video, the exhibition is an opportunity to expose and feature emerging and mid-career photographers and media artists from around the world. 

Artists 18 years of age and older are invited to apply between July 21 and September 21, 2014.
