Let the Craft & Folk Art Museum lead you through a unique art experience in Seattle. Seattle is a city that fosters a vibrant culture where art and craft are a part of life. Among the many treasures the group will explore are the collections of the Seattle Art Museum, the Museum of Glass, the Asian Art Museum, Pilchuk Glass School, the Chihuly Garden and Glass, The Experience Music Project, Olympic Sculpture Park, Bainbridge Art Museum, and various galleries, studios, and cooperatives. Meanwhile, we will enjoy the best of Seattle’s famous Northwest cuisine.

Tiny House at CAFAM



Friday, February 3, 2017
7:00–10:00pm  | $30 / $25 members

Meet Derek Diedricksen and learn about his innovative design approach as he brings his unique Tiny House Project to LA for the first time at CAFAM. The Launch Party features a book signing and talk with Diedricksen and guest micro-builders Michelle Boyle, Dustin Diedricksen, Andrew Odom, Marty Skrelunas, and Jedediah Voltz. Builder Palo Coleman will demonstrate Shou Sugi Ban, a Japanese technique of protecting wood by charring it with fire and designer Dustin Diedricksen will present a live framing demonstration. Food, cash bar and other surprises to come!

Purchase raffle tickets to win your own tiny house built on-site at CAFAM by Diedricksen and his team. The house will be a fully portable, solar, micro cabin approx. 10' by 7' inside and made of unconventional materials. Winner of the tiny house will be announced at the Tiny House Party on March 18, 2017. Winner is responsible for transporting the house from the museum.
