Join us for a weekend of events exploring the complexities of contemporary textile and garment production in Ghana. This event will include a public conversation with Molly Keogh + Maryanne Matthias, founders of Osei-Duro, a Los Angeles/Accra based fashion company, Carole Frances Lung, Assistant Professor of Art at CSULA, who recently spent 6 weeks researching the variety of textile and garment production in Ghana, and Kenya Miles of Traveling Miles Studio. The panel will be hosted by Ruti Talmor, Media Studies professor and anthropologist at Pitzer College. The weekend will also host an exhibition of CSULA student projects which were produced in Ghana, and a two day trunk show featuring products by Osei-Duro, Foot Print Textile and Art Shop, and Traveling Miles Studio.
