"Permission to Quilt" Workshop with Luke Haynes

Sunday, March 29 | 10:00am-5:00pm | $100/$80 Members

Construct your own small quilt top with artist Luke Haynes, whose work is on display in the exhibition Man-Made: Contemporary Male Quilters. Luke will walk you through a series of steps that will deconstruct and reconstruct used fabric and clothing into a quilt top about 30” in size. You will be working with abstract forms and learning how to harness fabrics that may be outside the normative quilting oeuvre. Please bring the following supplies or materials: - Two matching garments or matching pieces of fabric 1/2 yard or bigger and a contrast fabric that is 1/4 yard or bigger (Shirts from Goodwill are a good choice if you don’t have anything at home, and fabric should NOT be stretchy, thick, or too slippery to work with) - Rotary cutter - Sewing machine (If you don't own one, let us know and we can provide one) - Sack lunch

Advanced registration required. Click Here or email workshops@cafam.org.
